Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Davenport Alumnae Chapter Scholarship Application form 2025-2026

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (ΔΣΘ) is an historically African American sorority. The organization was founded by college-educated women dedicated to public service, with an emphasis on programs that assist the African American community. As a chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., one of Davenport Alumnae Chapter’s public service is our scholarship program, which encourages students of color to achieve academic excellence through higher education. The chapter awards scholarships to students of color who are graduating seniors, or who are currently enrolled in a higher education institution.

Scholarship Applicants must meet the following guidelines:

1. Must be a graduating senior attending a high school in the Quad Cities or presently enrolled in an institution of higher education.
2. Must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average, or equivalent, on a 4.0 grade point scale.
3. Must have a genuine financial need.
4. Must have two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with your character
a) One must be from a school official.
b) One must be representative of a church or community service organization.
5. Must submit an official transcript to the Davenport Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
6. Must have been involved in a service-oriented activity or organization in the school, community activities, (including work experience), and/or church activities.
7. Must submit a current headshot/photo of the applicant (not to be used for publication).
8. A completed application must be submitted to the sorority.
9. All materials (See Applicants Checklist) are due no later than 11:59pm on April 15th, no exceptions.
